A fake Rolex Submariner 126610LV is a replica of the 41mm Submariner Date that Rolex launched in 2020: green Cerachrom bezel, black lacquer dial, caliber 3235, 300m water resistance. Replicas of it sell from about $50 to $900, and the gap between the cheapest and the best is huge. The bezel insert, the rehaut alignment, the cyclops, and the movement are what separate a watch that fools people from one that fools nobody.
What the 126610LV actually is
Rolex calls this reference the Submariner Date 126610LV. It has a 41mm Oystersteel case, a green ceramic bezel with platinum-coated numerals, a black dial with Chromalight lume, and the 3235 movement with roughly a 70-hour power reserve. Lug width is 21mm, which is wider than the older 40mm Submariner. Collectors nicknamed it the Starbucks.
The detail people get wrong: the 126610LV has a black dial. The older 116610LV Hulk has a green dial and a green bezel. If a listing shows a green dial and calls it a 126610LV, it is a Hulk, and the case is probably 40mm. Check the size before anything else.
The replica tiers you will run into
- Entry tier, roughly $50 to $150: 316L steel, mineral glass, stamped clasp, painted bezel, low-beat movement. Obvious in hand.
- Mid tier, roughly $200 to $400: sapphire crystal, better dial printing, a clone of an ETA 2824 or a DG2813 style movement. Looks fine at arm's length.

What I check first
- Bezel insert. Real green Cerachrom is a deep olive-emerald that shifts with the light, and the numerals are platinum coated. Cheap inserts look flat, too bright or too dark, with white-looking paint in the numbers.
- Date and cyclops. 2.5x magnification, with anti-reflective coating under the lens that gives the date a dark, near-black look at an angle. A washed-out or blurry date is the fastest tell.
- Rehaut. The ROLEX engraving around the inner ring should line up with the minute markers and the coronet should sit at 12. Misalignment shows up in almost every cheap build.
- Dial and lume. Even printing, round lume plots, and hands that glow the same shade of blue as the markers. Mixed lume color is common on mid tier watches.

- Movement. A 3235 clone beats at 28,800 vph and runs close to 70 hours on a full wind. A 21,600 vph beat means you are looking at a lower tier watch, whatever the listing says.
Water resistance and the costs nobody mentions
Replicas are not pressure tested. The gaskets are the weak point, and swimming with one can put water straight into the movement. If you plan to wear it near water, have a watchmaker pressure test it first. Clone movements also arrive dry or dirty often enough that a service is worth budgeting for, and that service can cost more than the watch did.
The legal side, in plain terms
In the United States, selling counterfeit goods is a federal crime, and imports get seized and destroyed by Customs and Border Protection. Personal orders are not exempt. You can lose the watch and the money with no recourse. Passing a replica off as genuine is fraud. No Rolex service center will touch it, and resale value is close to zero. Buy with that in mind.

- Which movement is in it, and can you send a timegrapher photo?
- Are these photos of the actual watch, not stock images?
- Is the bezel insert ceramic or coated metal?
- What is the return policy, and who pays return shipping?
- Is the movement serviced before shipping, or does it arrive as it came from the factory?

A fake 126610LV can look convincing in a photo. The bezel insert, the rehaut, the cyclops, and the movement are where the money went or did not. Know the reference you are buying, know that you cannot recoup the cost, and do not expect it to survive a pool.
