Short answer
No Omega reference number is "329." Speedmaster references use longer formats, such as 3570.50.00 or 311.30.42.30.01.005. A listing that says "329" points to a seller code, a factory batch label, or a price tier. Ask the seller which factory and which movement they mean before you pay. No public list maps "329" to one factory.

Replica Speedmasters sell in tiers. Price tracks three parts: movement, case, and dial printing. Two watches with the same photos can differ by $200 based on those parts alone.
Movement
- Quartz: $30 to $60. Subdials sit frozen or act as 24-hour hands.
- Seagull ST19 hand-wind: $80 to $180. Column wheel, 21,600 vph, 40 hour reserve.

The genuine Speedmaster Professional runs the Omega 1861 or 3861: hand-wind, cam-switched, 21,600 vph, 48 hour reserve. No replica uses that movement. Case thickness tells you which clone sits inside before you open the back.

Case and crystal
Moonwatch case diameter is 42 mm, lug width 20 mm, thickness about 13.6 mm with hesalite. Speedmaster Reduced is 39 mm with an 18 mm lug width. Listings mix the two. Measure before you buy.
The genuine Moonwatch ships with hesalite (acrylic) or sapphire crystal. Hesalite is domed and carries a small etched Omega symbol at the center. Most replicas ship sapphire alone and skip the etching. Check the crown: the genuine part is signed and pulls to three positions.
Dial and bezel
The 3570.50 tachymeter insert is anodized aluminum. Some later limited refs use ceramic. Replicas use printed aluminum or coated steel, and the scale numbers smear under a loupe.
Subdial spacing at 3-6-9 differs by movement. ST19-based replicas sit closer together than the 1861 layout. That gap is the tell most buyers check first.
Dial text: the 1861 Moonwatch carries the Omega symbol, "Speedmaster," and "PROFESSIONAL." It does not carry the word "CO-AXIAL." Replicas add text the genuine dial does not have.
Legal status in the US
Counterfeit watches are illegal to import and to sell. US Customs and Border Protection seizes shipments, and the buyer loses the money. Federal law, 18 U.S.C. § 2320, makes trafficking in counterfeit goods a crime with prison terms and forfeiture of the goods. Omega will not service a counterfeit, and an authorized dealer will not touch it. Resale value is near zero. Parts for clone movements come from the same sellers.
What to ask a seller
- Factory name and version number.
- Movement model and beat rate.
- Case diameter and lug width in mm.
- Crystal material.
- Photo of the caseback and the movement.
- Return window and payment method.
A seller who cannot name a movement cannot promise a tier. That answer settles more than any photo set.
